The Haberdashery, Glasgow - Styled Shoot

Having walked by the Haberdashery many times in the last couple of years, and watched as the venue space developed. I’ve been keen to shoot at it for some time.

While planning for my most recent styled shoot, it came time to reach out to a couple of venues to see who might be interested in working together. A styled shoot is a fantastic way of meeting other wedding vendors and trying different thing you may not get the chance or time to do on a real wedding day.

I had a quick scan of Google Maps, (Apple Maps and Bing aren’t as good, let’s be honest…) and the Haberdashery popped up, I had a quick look at their Instagram and couldn’t believe how good the venue was looking! I contacted Nikki from the Haberdashery and she agreed that a styled shoot would be good!

Nikki asked if we had any plans for furniture or venue styling yet, and suggested Gill from Artisan Weddings Ayrshire as our stylist and 360 Event Hire for providing some tables and chairs.

Artisan Weddings Ayrshire had everything we could need and got to work filling the table with eucalyptus, white fabric and candelabras with candles that complimented the black chairs provided by 360 Event Hire. In no time at all, we had our table looking perfect and providing an incredible backdrop for our couple.

One of the best parts of the Haberdashery, is the bar/cafe area as you enter the venue. The team there have done a great job at creating a unique space that looks stunning on camera. Something that makes my job as the photographer really easy and allows me to capture the feel of the venue with ease.

Another benefit of the Haberdashery is it’s proximity to Kelvingrove Park, Park Circus and the Kelvingrove Museum. This means that on a wedding day, there is no shortage of photo spots to go after the ceremony.

Our shoot day had showers on and off throughout the entirety of the day, but even at that, we had no issues with a short walk up to Park Circus and a walk back to the Haberdashery via Kelvingrove Park itself.

I’d have no hesitation in recommending the Haberdashery as a wedding venue to any of my couples and with the space that the team there have laboured to create, it makes my job as a photographer a piece of cake!

A huge thank you to all our fantastic vendors that helped pull the day together.
