Ross Priory, Loch Lomond - Sarah & Mark

I spent the day shooting for Chronicle Pix as their Second Photographer. A huge thank you to Darren for having me along, it was great to be shooting alongside you and I hope we’re able to work together again soon!

Possibly one of the most relaxed weddings I’ve ever been a part of, there was absolutely no stress from Sarah or Mark on the day! Ross Priory made for an incredible venue, right on the banks of Loch Lomond and not far from Glasgow. Ross Priory is owned by the University of Strathclyde and they keep it well maintained with easy access to stunning gardens for Portraits and a short walk to Loch Lomond itself.

Starting at Groom Prep in Dumbarton, before moving on to the venue itself at Ross Priory, Mark and his groomsmen kilted up going for a matching tartan and kilt pins.

Whilst the groom was getting ready, we received word from the bridesmaids that the wedding dress had been almost damaged overnight due to an elaborate story involving birds making a nest in it!? We’re were told that Sarah was understandably upset, but they’d managed to save the dress!

Upon arriving at Bridal prep I was told that the story had been made up by one of the bridal party and was quizzed as to how much Mark and his groomsmen had fallen for it. They had bought it completely, but wouldn’t find out the truth until the speeches in the evening.

One of the standout features of the Ceremony room at Ross Priory, is the stunning natural light that floods in through the windows. The ceremony room was decorated well and made for an incredible location, complete with a view of Loch Lomond in the background.

After the ceremony, we headed outside for Family photos, and then on to couples portraits in the garden behind Ross Priory.

We headed back to the dining room, ready for the speeches (and the reveal of the bird story). The speeches were excellent, with plenty of laughs and emotional moments throughout.

Following a fantastic dinner, we got a sneak peek of the cake, before moving on to Sarah & Mark’s first dance as newly weds, and then a lovely dance with their parents too.

A fantastic summers day, right on the banks of Loch Lomond!

Another huge thank you to Sarah, Mark and Chronicle Pix for having me along to document the day.
